I have always loved to cook and bake. I learned how to follow a recipe from my wonderful mother, who passed away five years ago from breast cancer. Growing up I was always in the kitchen. I love to try new recipes, some work, some do not. My family is very used to trying out new things. They are also very honest in telling me whether the recipe is a keeper or toss back. I kept posting pictures of what I made on my families blog and decided to give my creations there own place. I am not a professional by any means. Baking/cooking is just something I really enjoy doing.

Just some cupcakes

truck birthday cake

I made this for my friends son who was turning 2. My cake did not rise well and it resulted in a kind of lopsided cake. I am pleased with most of it, but if I did it over I know it could be great.

I made this for my brother in law, who loves cycling. Notice the cycler gets a flat tire and eventually crashes. My neice came out with the flat tire idea.

Alex's Birthday cookie

My daughter Ales, just turned 13. She lives for gymnastics, it is what she absoululty loves to do. She wanted to bring a treat for her team on her birthday, so this is what I came up with. She also hates the color pink, I made the leotard pink as a joke. Next time it will be green or blue.

Blue and Gold dinner--- Go scouts!

Our church group was having a blue and gold dinner to celebrate scoutings birthday. Since I am the Webelos scout leader, I was able to help with the dinner. This is a cake and cupcakes I made for the dinner. The very hardest part was the collar, I could not get it to stand up straight, finally I covered a thin piece of cardboard to finish it. I need to figure how to make fondant stand up straight. Grr it was so frustrating!!

Christmas cupcakes

I made these cupcakes to give to co- workers. They are both a chocolate cupcake, one is dipped in chocolate ganache with a mint christmas tree. the other is topped with peppermint buttercream. It was fun to try dipping the cupcakes in ganache, I have never tried it before, but have to say it turned out good.

Lady bug cupcakes

I made these for my friends little girls birthday. I tried dipping them in melted fondant, but it did no turn out very good, so I covered the cupcakes with a fondant flower. I think they looked cute, but the dipped fondant under the flower made it a very heavy cupcake.

First try at carved cake.

This was my very first attement at doing a carved cake. It is a subaru cake. I wish I could do it over, I know that I could do a way better job the second time around, when I actually know what I a doing. I can see every flaw and believe me there are many.
